Beyond Supplements: How Andrew Rebuilt His Daily Energy and Focus

Client Andrew shares his Mindeo experience

"I couldn’t progress because I would spin out with exercise intolerance. It’s incredibly demotivating when you feel worse after doing exercise. For me, Mindeo has helped break that cycle."

Breaking the Cycle: For Andrew, Brain Fitness Meant Trading the "Push-Through" Culture

By the time Andrew found Mindeo, he was navigating a deeply challenging chapter. Going through a divorce during the pandemic had left him trying to figure out how to piece his life back together. But alongside the emotional weight of that transition, Andrew was also dealing with the quiet, lingering effects of an old physical injury—one he didn't fully realize had altered the rhythm of his days.

Years earlier, Andrew had been in what seemed like a minor bicycle accident. He missed an oncoming truck, landed safely in a ditch, and walked away thinking it was the luckiest day of his life. Because he never lost consciousness, he assumed he was fine.

Later, however, a brain scan revealed a different story, showing an uneven, asymmetric landscape. He was formally diagnosed with a concussion after the fact, but finding a clear path forward proved difficult.

"Brain injuries in general are not understood by the medical community very well," Andrew notes.

Determined to find relief, Andrew explored a wide variety of avenues. He changed his diet, tried targeted brain supplements, spent time in a hyperbaric oxygen chamber, took prescribed mental health medications, and dedicated himself to talk therapy. Yet, a major piece of the puzzle remained unsolved: his physical energy.

Every time Andrew tried to return to regular exercise, his body rebelled. A few hours of normal exertion would lead to a complete physical crash—a frustrating cycle known as exercise intolerance. Traditional fitness environments only made things worse.

Redefining the Approach to Movement

"I was getting the 'rah-rah' muscle-building coach style, like 'You’ve got to do more, Andrew,'" he recalls. "That was just too intense for me. I couldn’t progress because I would spin out with exercise intolerance. It was confusing, and it’s incredibly demotivating when you feel worse after doing exercise."

Andrew realized that lasting change wouldn't come from just adding another supplement or forcing his body through a grueling workout. He needed to teach his nervous system a new way to operate. He wanted what he calls "slow medicine"—an approach that focuses on helping the body steadily restore its own foundations.

That baseline shift is what brought him to Mindeo.

Rather than pushing him to exhaustion, Mindeo's private, guided sessions provided a structured environment tailored to his exact tolerance levels. He was able to engage in low-intensity, cross-body movements designed to activate the left and right hemispheres of the brain together, always followed by a dedicated, deliberate recovery period.

Breaking the Cycle

For Andrew, the most significant shift was that the sessions were targeted enough to stimulate his brain-body connection without flaring his post-concussion symptoms. For the first time in a long time, he could move without fearing the inevitable afternoon crash.

Today, the improvements show up in the quiet predictability of his daily energy. He is building the stamina to stay active throughout the day, tipping his physical foundation back toward health.

"For me, Mindeo has helped break that cycle," Andrew says. "And I think that that’s a key for people with any chronic syndrome to slowly get out of it—tipping the foundation towards health so your body can regenerate itself."
